As the Syria becomes a prolonged crisis, long-term projects are increasingly important. Agricultural projects are a good example of projects which transcends into development, while ensuring food security. Bihar has implemented one agricultural project as of June 2015 and is planning four other projects.
The project implemented aims to increase nutrition via local sustainable production. The project provided logistic support, such as seeds, fertilizer, water for irrigation and essential agricultural tools. Bihar monitors the farming conditions and to provides professional guidance to participants. The project focused on those farmers who suffer from physical disability and have limited financial capability. In total 36 families benefited from this project and the crops are successfully growing.
One project is scheduled for the autumn of 2015, it will support farmers with small-plots. 670 people would directly benefit to this project, which should strengthen local communities and secure nutrition intake.
